Torches are items used to provide light. They can be placed on any side of a block, except the bottom.
Brightness[]
Torches are brighter than Redstone Torches but not as bright as Glowstone.
Crafting[]
Torches are crafted with Sticks and Coal/Charcoal and will make four torches when crafted.
Other Uses[]
Torches can also be used to dramatically lengthen the life of your tools while mining large stacks of sand and gravel. Use one to mine the bottom block of the stack and immediatly put a torch in it's place. Gravity will cause the remaining stack of gravel/sand to fall on the torch, popping them into item blocks. The torches can then be collected to use again.
Trivia[]
- Torches have the same characteristics as opaque or most transparent blocks. You are able to stack certain other blocks on top of them.
