Iron Pickaxes are the second strongest Pickaxe in Minecraft. Iron Pickaxes are capable of up to 251 uses, nearly double of a Stone Pickaxe. Iron Pickaxes mine at a fast rate. Iron Pickaxes are required for mining gold, diamonds, or emeralds. Despite being more expensive to craft, the durability and speed is worth it.
