Blaze Rods are brewing materials which are dropped by Blazes upon their death, mobs which are only found in or near Nether Fortresses and which appear to have these rods as body parts. They are essential for brewing potions, and are commonly used for locating Strongholds.
They can also be utilized as a fuel source. When used in a Furnace, a Blaze Rod lasts 120 seconds (12 operations), which is second only to Lava. This makes Blaze Rods one of the most effective, renewable fuels for smelting.
