An Eye of Ender can be crafted with an Ender Pearl and Blaze Powder. When thrown, it floats in front of your face for a half second, then haphazardly moves up 3-4 blocks and horizontally 10-15 blocks in the direction of an End Portal. Once stationary, it often reverts back to a 3D item, drops to the ground, and can be retrieved again. Note "often", because there is a chance that it will disintegrate in a tiny purple explosion after it travels, especially when it is horizontally close to the End Portal. When the End Portal is found (always within a Stronghold), you will notice special blocks that make up the frame. It is necessary to have an Eye of Ender placed on top of every one of these blocks to activate the End Portal.

- Ender Pearls (one of the two ingredients) are more quickly obtained from Endermen if you have a sword enchanted with looting, increasing the odds of more pearls per Endermen death.
Tips & Tricks[]
- It is only necessary to have one Eye of Ender to find the Stronghold, even in Survival Mode (as long as you're okay with bending the rules). The problem to overcome is the chance of the Eye of Ender disintegrating after use. The solution is to save your game right before your big Stronghold hunt. Then use your Eye of Ender until it disintegrates (number of uses varies), then note your location, exit without saving, return and begin your hunt at the new location. Repeat until the Eye of Ender moves less than 10 blocks and/or disintegrates after just one use. The Stronghold will be at least 20 blocks deep.
